After breakfast continue towards Namche Bazaar, the biggest town of the region. Our trail follows the Khumbu Khola (river) and we cross it many times until Jangbu from where we start to ascend. Beautiful valley landscapes views await us. After a half days ascending the trail becomes steeper until reaching the town of Namche Bazaar. Before reaching the town we can stop at the Everest View Point from where we can have our first look at the mighty mountain. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.

Day 3 : Acclimatization Day (3440m)

Today we have a full day to relax and get used to the high altitude. By ascending too much people who are not used to the high altitude can get discomfort of altitude sickness so it is crucial we break down our trek and get used to the new altitudes. Namche Bazaar is the biggest town in the area so you can have a fun day exploring all this town has to offer! Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 4 : Trek to Tengboche monastery (3,860m)

An early rise and we start our trek towards Tengboche. The trail becomes steeper and the path becomes harder. The locals here work on the trails themselves and have a donation box stationed at the start of the trail. Crossing various suspension bridges, passing through forest trails that come out in incredible views of the Himalayas and passing sacred Buddhist Stupas the path climbs up more and more until reaching the Tengboche Monastery. The monastery is beautiful decorated and praying bells await u on the outside. For our overnight stay we will lodge in Tengboche.

Day 5 : Trek to Dingboche (4,410m)

We can feel the cold temperatures now and after breakfast we trek towards Dingboche. We walk downhill through pristine forests with amazing valley views until reaching Deboche. A steep ascend awaits us all the way to Dingboche with Everest lurking in the background. Overnight stay at Dingboche.

Reaching our camping spot at the Island Peak Base Camp we put up our tents and prepare for the night.

Day 10 : Island peak summit (6,189m) and return to Base Camp (5,200m)

Today is the day, we head for the summit at 6,189 meters! We wake up before 1 am to have breakfast and depart for our climb. It’s crucial to reach the summit before midday as the strong winds of the Himalayan highlands can prevent us a successful climb to the summit. Following the path ascending up from the base camp we climb the hill and enter a rock channel. As the trail narrows down we proceed very carefully and climb the rock gully. This part is not so technical and we soon reach out of the gully, continuing along the ridgeline onto the end of the glacier. Safety is always a priority and rope will be placed if necessary. Climbing up the snowy slope we reach the summits ridge. Our last obstacle will be traversing a few crevasses and we reach the high point of the summit! Congratulations    you have made it to the top. We rest and enjoy our victory taking pictures and enjoying the amazing view. Now it’s time to head back to Base Camp for our overnight stay.
